Morning Hydrator Smoothie
Today I woke up with some pressure behind my eyes. For me this usually means I am a bit dehydrated and am lacking some magnesium. So for my first meal, after my morning workout, this is what I had to relieve the dull ache.
Ingredients:
I cup organic purple kale
1 cup watermelon
1 whole organic kiwi
1 tsp of soaked chia seeds
1/2 cup organic frozen blueberries
1 organic medium size banana
2 capsules of Bifidophilus Flora Force (emptied)
1 tsp Vivix by Shaklee
1/4 cup organic apple juice
1 cup purified, cold water
Blend & Enjoy!
Chocolatey, Minty, Goodness Coffee Shake!
This will rival any chocolate shake or coffee shop frappacino you have ever tasted. And healthy for you without all the secret, "I do not know what is in it" ingredients.
Ingredients:
6-8 oz. of quality brewed coffee (that has chilled already)
1/8 tsp organic vanilla
2 tbsp organic, cocoa nibs
1 tbsp organic, powdered cocoa
6-8 organic, mint leaves (use a few drops of spearimint if you do not have fresh mint)
2 tbsp organic, coconut sugar
3 organic, frozen bananas
1/2 cup rice milk
Blend and top with a few cocoa nibs to give a bit of crunch. Enjoy! This makes almost 2 shakes, and you will want both! Tip: This is a great way to use leftover coffee that would normally be thrown out.
I prefer to use a French press when making coffee, as I like the oils to be more pronounced. This is some chocolatey goodness and will get you going!
Healing Smoothie!
After my workout this morning, it will be debatable if I can walk normally tomorrow. I was in squat and dead lift hell and my dream of being quadzilla has not yet come to fruition. So I need some healing to take place.
Ingredients: Berries and sprouts are for Healing!
1 cup organic spinach
1/3 cup organic broccoli sprouts
1/2 pint of org blackberries
1/2 pint org raspberries
1/4 pint of blueberries
1 org banana
3 capsules of Bifidophilus Flora Force
1 tbsp Shaklee Vivix - optional
1 1/2" of turmeric root - optional
1 tbsp honey (to taste) - optional
1/2 cup org apple juice
2 cups filtered water
Blend and viola! This smoothie, due to the sprouts and turmeric, leans toward the earthy side. If you are leary and are new to smoothie making, scale back 1/2 of the amount of those two ingredients, or up your sweetener (coconut sugar is tasty).
Cherry Berry Blast
There was a bug going around and I was feeling under the weather yesterday. So I fasted to make sure I would not catch it. Remember it's the best way to avoid sickness is to let the body rest and use all its reserves on healing. Today I need to refuel and replenish. I do not normally drink green smoothies, as I prefer to have some sweetness to them. This is my version of a green drink with the tastiness of fruit.
1/2 cup frozen organic blueberries
1/2 cup frozen organic cherries
2 tbsp organic coconut syrup
1 tbsp Vivix by Shaklee
2 tbsp organic plant protein powder (vanilla)
1 handful of organic cilantro (from my mother's garden), stems and all
1 handful of organic lettuce (also from mom's garden)
1 tsp Chlorella powder
2 tbsp Aloe leaf
3 capsules of Bifidophilus Flora Force
2-3 cups of water
Blend all this together in a high powered blender. If it needs more liquid, add it. I prefer my smoothies to have more liquid when I have greens in them, as it makes for a more even consistency. This smoothie is easy on the stomach. You get the tastiness of the fruit and a clean finish with the cilantro. I tastes so refreshing. On my blog I have pictures of the brands of ingredients used if you want to know more. Enjoy!

Sweet Berry Green Detox and Recharge Smoothie

It is December here in Texas and the weather is finally getting cold. We are halfway through the heavier food from the Thanksgiving holiday and my birthday (week!) and I have been exhausted. I have gained some weight, been working from home and not exercising as much, and have been burning the candle at both ends. So it is time to really make a shift and get my body and mind back where it needs to be. All the greens listed here are from my winter garden. Feel free to mix and match if they are not available, however the important ones are the herbs to really purify the blood and liver. It tastes fantastic!

Ingredients:

3 oz. organic blackberries
3 oz. of organic
1/2 organic, frozen banana
