Nighttime Lemon & Baking Soda Mask

What you need:

Spoon

Glass bowl

Organic lemon

4-5 tsp of baking soda

Squeeze the lemon in a glass bowl. Then mix in the baking soda one (1) teaspoon at a time, depending on the amount of juice you get from the lemon. Make it the consistency of toothpaste so it goes on smooth.

Make sure your face is clean and that you have on a shirt you can get dirty. Spread the mask on avoiding the eye area. Leave on until it starts crumbling and is too messy to keep on your face. Due to the Alpha Hydroxy Acids in the lemon juice, you do not want to keep this on your face for more than about 20 minutes.

Take a warm cloth and wipe the mask off smoothly. Then splash your face with warm water and pat dry. Your face will be pink for about 15 minutes. I use Shaklee Toner to wipe away any residue. Try not to use soap after, but a toner. If you do not have any, try 1 part water to 1 part Apple Cider Vinegar. This will also alkalize the skin. Then I put on a good moisturizer, as the baking soda has a drying effect, while soaking up excess oils on the skin. It is amazing how refreshed and smooth your skin will feel.

Benefits:

* Smooth skin

* Over time you will notice a lightening of sun spots and acne scars.

* Excellent exfoliator

* Infuses the skin with Vitamin C

* Alkalizes the skin

* Dries out acne

* Prevents acne over time

This is the baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) that I order from www.mountainroseherbs.com. Due to my sensitive skin and my theological stance, I prefer to order baking soda that I trust is not processed with any unknown chemicals.
