Household Tip #1: How to unscrew a stripped screw

IMG_1775.JPG

For my mother's birthday, I have been working on a painting. Usually I put the frame on the back of the wood before I start, however this time I did not. And unfortantely I attempted to put drywall screws in wood. So naturally, they stripped before going all the way in the wood. Yes, countersinking or drilling first would of helped.

So, the household tip I have today is how to unscrew a stripped screw. There are several ways to do this, depending on if the screw is all the way in or if its partially out. This technique works for both.

HOW TO:

Take a rubber band and place it under

your drill bit or screwdriver.

Press firmly.

Unscrew slowly.

This may take a few times to reset the rubber band and start over.

And viola!
