Cherry Berry Blast Smoothie Recipe
There was a bug going around and I was feeling under the weather yesterday. So I fasted to avoid sickness to let my body rest and use all its reserves on healing. Today I need to refuel and replenish. The good news is I knocked out whatever was threatening to attack my immune system! I do not normally drink green smoothies, as I prefer to have some sweetness to them, however often mine will have some greens in them. This is my version with the tastiness of fruit.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup frozen organic blueberries
1/2 cup frozen organic cherries
2 tbsp organic coconut syrup
1 tbsp Vivix by Shaklee
2 tbsp organic plant protein powder (vanilla)
1 handful of organic cilantro (from my mother's garden), stems and all
1 handful of organic lettuce (also from mom's garden)
1 tsp Chlorella powder
2 tbsp Aloe leaf
3 capsules of Bifidophilus Flora Force
2-3 cups of water
Blend all this together in a high powered blender. If it needs more liquid, add it. I prefer my smoothies to have more liquid when I have greens in them, as it makes for a more even consistency. This smoothie is easy on the stomach, and is excellent for pulling out toxins while supplying the body with the nutrients it needs. You get the tastiness of the fruit and a clean finish with the cilantro. I tastes so refreshing.
I have included pictures of several of the brands I use. I do not often use protein powders, however I feel I needed it after fasting yesterday. Since I was 2 years old, I have been drinking different kinds of protein. So I have had my fair share of good and bad ones. To find the balance of taste and quality ingredients has been a journey in and of itself, as I am a strong believer in plant based ones. Hope you enjoy and I would love to hear what you think!
Check out these gorgeous greens my mom, Carol, grew.
Enjoy!!!!
